Aaron Butler


Mr. Butler graduated from Wittenberg University with a BS in Elementary Education and a Masters in Educational Administration from Ashland University. He comes to Mason Run from Springfield, Ohio. Mr. Butler enjoys playing competitive softball, watching movies, reading, and serving people in the community. At Mason Run, he is responsible for the well-being and development of his students, teachers, and staff while overseeing the day to day operations of the school.


Sara Duke

Asst. Director/Asst. Principal

This is Ms. Duke's 4th year at Mason Run High School as the Assistant Principal. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Language Arts from Ohio Dominican University and a Master's Degree in Principal Leadership from Concordia University, Chicago. She enjoys hanging out with her two children, reading, and interior design.


Rhianon Herrell

Enrollment Specialist/Records

Rhianon Herrell, also known as Ms. Rhi (pronounced REE), is a Columbus native and graduate of The Ohio State University. Her studies in Human Development and Family Sciences prepared her to work with students of all ages and backgrounds. Ms. Rhi enjoys her role as Enrollment Specialist, and is a movie buff and foodie in her spare time!


Jennifer Hurtado

Student Engagement Coordinator

This is Jennifer Hurtado and she is our Student Engagement Coordinator at Mason Run. She graduated with a business degree, but quickly discovered that her passion is in helping young adults! Her role is to keep students in school and help them however she can so they can graduate! Stop by her office whenever you need help with anything or just want to chat about life. If you miss too many days of school, she will track you down! By the way, she also ¡Habla español también!


Norris Parker

Student Success Coach

Norris "Cool Papa" Parker was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He's been cool since his inception. Coolness runs in his family, as his Mom and Dad are just as cool as the other side of the pillow. As a youth, he was so cool that all the kids called him "Cool Breezy N. Peezy". He Graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in 2002. The day he walked across the stage was the coolest day ever. Attended both Columbus State Community College and Franklin University, majoring in Accounting. Cool Papa has been working with underprivileged teens and young adults since 2012, through various mentorship programs and volunteering. This is Cool Papa's 2nd year in Education.


Kathleen Cooper

Family Advocate

Ms. Cooper is the Family Advocate at Mason Run. She comes to Ohio from the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) with a Bachelor of Arts in English and from Eastern Mennonite University with a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Counseling. Ms. Cooper is an avid reader and podcast listener and enjoys getting outside and exploring with her Goldendoodle, Kingsley Shacklebark.


Bear Hannah

English Teacher

This is David Hannah, but he is better known as Mr. Bear. He has been our English teacher for the past 4 years. He also helps with creating a social media presence on Mason Run. He has a beautiful daughter. In his free time, you can catch him Ubering.


Melanie Lolli

Math Teacher

This is Ms. Lolli's 4th year at Mason Run and 9th year teaching high school math here in the Columbus area! On the side, Ms. Lolli runs her own math tutoring business and enjoys outdoor adventures and making puzzles. Most of all, she LOVES explaining math to people of all ages! She wholeheartedly believes that ANYONE can be successful in a math class, it just takes some practice and someone who can help!


Aaron Haeberle

Science Teacher

Mr. Haeberle or Mr. H has been at Mason Run for five years and counting. He originally comes from the great basketball state of Indiana. It was there he also graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in life science education and a minor in theatre. With his passion for science, theatre, and hands on learning, Mr. H sets out to make science as interactive as possible! When he is not in the classroom, Mr. Haeberle is looking for the best local food or playing board games.


Jackie Walton

Social Studies Teacher

With an undergraduate degree from the College of Wooster and a graduate degree from Ashland University, Mrs. Walton is the Mason Run Social Studies Teacher. This is her fifth year teaching Social Studies (fourth year at Mason Run). Her passion for history derived from a love of travel. When she is not traveling or planning her next grand adventure, she can be found in the classroom with her therapy dog, Mako, out hiking, or visiting with friends and family.

Garrett Beech

Intervention Specialist

This is Garrett Beech. He is from Alliance, Ohio where he also attended the University of Mount Union and received a Bachelor's of Arts in Special Education. This is his second year as an Educator/Intervention Specialist. He spent a little time with Columbus City before joining the most dope Mason Run Staff. He splits half the Mason Run caseload with the awesome Mr. Davis. When he is not at work you can find him exploring nature, playing with his dog, or watching his favorite sports.

Intervention Specialist

This is Eric Davis, one of two Intervention Specialists at Mason Run High School. He is a graduate of South High School and Ohio University. He is also a proud father of two teenage daughters. When he is not working, he enjoys cooking, reading, cycling and exercising.

Jingwen Zhong

Jingwen Zhong

ESL Teacher

Ms. Jingwen Zhong is our ESL teacher. She provides lessons and supports to students who have been identified as English as a second language (ESL) learners. Her role is to help students improve their English skills in all four domains: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. She mainly helps students with language learning and academic work.
